Youtube Slapped Me in the Face – Your account has received the following Community Guidelines warning strikes, which will expire in six months

Normally I make a few video’s every day with google hangout.
Unfortunately this is not possible for me since YouTube slapped me in the face with this message:

Your account has received the following Community Guidelines warning strikes, which will expire in six months. Additional violations may result in the temporary disabling of your ability to post content to YouTube and/or the termination of your account

What is a community Guidelines Warning Strike?

This is when YouTube gets signals that you are doing something that violates the Community Guidelines.
However I think people should get a warning first before getting YouTube privileges removed

Why did I get the Community Guidelines Warning Strike

I don’t exactly know why I got this YouTube warning strike but I had something to do with a product review that I made online with google hangouts.
Apparently Google Hangouts checks during your hangout on what site you are when sharing your screen. This in order to maintain copyright laws etc.
They might have thought that I was stealing content but actually I was reviewing an affiliate offer.

What to Do with a YouTube Community Guidelines Warning Strike?

The only thing you can do is appeal against YouTube Community Guidelines Warning Strike or wait 6 months for them to open your hangout option again.

I contacted YouTube and they gave me 255 characters to explain why I didn’t agree with the warning strike.
Let’s see how this works out.

The Alternative to Google Hangout

That leaves me back to my normal screencastomatic or camtasia software for videos.
So you will still see me popping by on youtube
